YOI Fellow Sheilly Martinez is passionate about issues facing her community. With this video, Sheilly creatively draws the connection between community issues, community organizing, and the importance of voting with a timely, real world example.

“It is currently an issue that is affecting the residents of Freeport, Long Island,” Sheilly explains. Residents are fighting for a local ballpark, which is under threat of being sold to developers hoping to build a package distribution warehouse.
